Youth and Children's Choirs
With three youth choral choirs and two youth hand bell/chime choirs, there is definitely something for everyone at the First Congregational Church of Redlands.
The youth choirs, led by Coco and Lysander McKown, are broken down into three different age ranges, with youth music available from age four through high school. These youth choirs perform on a regular basis (1 to 2x monthly) in the main sanctuary service and annually present two full musicals.

This year, the choirs were invited to be the backup youth choir for international violinist superstar, Andre Rieu. Once at Citizen’s Business Bank Arena, the children rehearsed both on and off stage, with and without Rieu. The soloist, Carmen Monarcha, as well as the rest of the crew all fell in love with the children. All the parents and quite a few congregation members attended the show and the children were outstanding. The children had a once-in-a-lifetime experience and were excited about it (and are still talking about it!). They were taped for a possible PBS special that could be shown in the future.

The December musical was The First Leon, which told the story of a young boy, Leon, who felt called to tell the true meaning of Christmas.  Full of fun music, dancing and a surprises, this year's pageant was a hit!

Coco and Lysander are currently working on the Spring pageant and invite any and all children ages four through high school who are interested in music to join.  You'll find there is something for everyone in choir. Youth music rehearsals start again February 6, 2011 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. and continues until the spring pageant which is on Sunday, May 15, 2011.  We would love to have you join us!
